Cords Chords Kords

I've been away on the latin trip/absent for the week when this was supposed to be due, but I'm done now, so it's all good! For this project, I decided I wanted to try making a polyrhythmic sort of feel. Polyrhythms rock my socks off, but I dont know too much about them so chances are it probably isn't one.. It occurs in the drums anyways, and after the synth and bass come in its very hard to hear. The chords I used at first were all ugly and stuff. luckily, Mr. Rabuse came to the rescue and told me that what I was doing was wrong in the first place. So i fixed it and made it all pretty 1-4-5 ish. Actually, It was more like 1-4-1-5 and the second 1 was a different inversion of the chord so it didnt get boring. Oh yeah, It was in the key of D and the bass did some cool stuff that sounded like what you'd hear in a baseball game. The icing on the cake, however, was when I came in today and noticed these interesting little audio clips of somebody saying "my name is pickard and I am spunky" and "Women Love me cuz I am spunky." Naturally, I needed to put those in there too.
Enjoy! =)

Something about Signs and Saws (project 5)

Okay I'm pretty certain I did this wrong. I messed a lot with the saw wave and made it sound nothing like a saw wave anymore, and instead more like a stringy sound. the sine wave sounds more or less like a sine wave, and it's pretty boring, but the rest of the parts in the song compliment it and whatnot. I used a pitch envelope on the sine wave to make it sound a lot higher, but it doesn't change from being higher because when I had it do that, it sounded gross and not fun to listen to. I put a volume and a "mod" envelope on the saw/stringy sounding thing, to make it sort of "sparkle" when sustaining, and It sounds pretty cool. I also used the oscillator to make it sound stringy in the first place. both parts of the synths were recorded by me on the piano, and the drums and bass I also made.

Something a little different (project 4)

Hello, this is my project 4. I based it around this idea I had where I wanted to create something with a sort of 3/4-ish time to it, but not exactly in 3/4. I don't know how to explain it seeing as that I'm not that educated when it comes to different time signatures and whatnot. Off of that one idea, I put some string sounds as to add to the "sad" feel of the song. They start off quiet and then build up, much like the drums which are all made by me with the drum loops. I tried to focus the drums around a "clap" sound and I think it fits the music well. As for the X/Y controls that we were supposed to use, I did put it on a sort of solo thing at the end. It didnt change much, but it is there. I also used the mixer to add a bit of delay/reverb to the solo piece.
Enjoy!

Ill call it... FRUITY JUICE! (project 3)

GOOD AFTERNOON! Or good morning, or good evening depending on when you check this out. This is project 3, and this time I didn't really know where I was going with this, but it turned out pretty good in my opinion. It started when I chose the channel "toxic biohazard" or something similar. I liked it, and I put an animation clip on it that was pretty crazy and involved a lot of pitch bends and such. I noticed that it sounded very empty though, so I looked over my shoulder at Josh and saw that he was using a synth-ish channel thing called "Simsynth" and decided to check it out. I enjoyed it, so I chopped it up and added some drums. Then it would have been repetitive if it had kept going forever, so I added another animation loop on the simsynth that slowly bends up the pitch, and then goes back down at the end. I even added a bass after it went back to normal, and a fading out animation loop for an ending. due to the way it sounds, I call it "FRUITY-JUICE," and I think the name is appropriate. I'm fairly proud of it, and I hope you enjoy :D

Project Numero 2

I have a feeling I embeded it wrong, but ill try this anyways.
This is project 2. Yay! I based the riff for the slayer on something that i had in my head, and it turned out sounding slightly like the Grinch, which I think is pretty cool. There is an intro and it is in the same key as the main riffage, but an octave up. There is a key change later in the song after the main riff plays twice. The drums for the "intro" part were solely made from the drum loop maker thing, and the other ones were a pre-made drum loop that I added some flavor to.
Enjoy!

Drum Loooopppssssss :D

Hi Mr. Rabuse. I wrote drum loops for you.
When I made my drum loops, I did my best to create a sort of oddly synchopated sort of thing, even if I failed at that immensely. I like it when drum fills kind of quiet down for a bit as to add suspense and a little bit of the break for the listener before going into the next drum loop, which in this is in 6/8 time.
I hope you enjoy this and whatnot :D
